Senior Services & Program Development In 1965 the U.S. Congress enacted legislation know as the Older American's Act. The Act authorizes Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) to fund local public and non-profit organizations to develop or expand services for persons over 60.
Through a contract with the Central Minnesota Council on Aging (AAA), the East Central Senior Resource Center offers assistance to businesses, agencies and organizations wishing to develop or expand services for older adults in the five county region.
Types of assistance available include needs assessments, survey development, business plan assistance, demographic information, grant writing and training.
For more information about how we can assist your community, business or agency contact Penny Simonsen, penny.simonsen@ecrdc.org to discuss options best suited for your specific development needs.
Senior Provider Networks Each county within the region has a "Senior Provider Network". Oftentimes the networks' meetings offer a chance to meeting program staff and find out what new services are being introduced throughout the region.
The East Central Senior Resource Center facilitates the networking events by publicizing the networks and sending out event announcements. Participants drive the agendas. The events are open to the public. You're encouraged to bring a friend. "Good food, ample conversation, and potential partnerships" sum up the events.
