Supporting the enhancement of arts quantity and quality in 7E: ∙artist grants/fellowships∙organization grants∙community grants ∙school grants ∙kids art scholarships ∙ annual Image Arts Show ∙identification of art & economic-community development links ∙ information, assistance, and referral on arts issues.
This activity is made possible in part by funds from the East Central Arts Council and the East Central Regional Development Commission as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature, and also because of a grant from The McKnight Foundation.
Mission of the East Central Arts Council
The Mission of the East Central Arts Council is to "improve the quality and quantity of the arts in Region 7E by facilitating the development of arts organizations and promoting the growth of individual artists."
The ECRDC serves as the policy body for the East Central Arts Council, which is appointed by the Commission. The Arts Council, which has representatives from each of the five counties, develops an arts biennial plan for the region which is aimed at artistic and cultural enrichment of the area. The program, using funds made available by the Minnesota State Legislature and The McKnight Foundation, supports local artists and community art activities including community theater, art shows, art activities in schools, and the Image Art Show. Over the years, literally hundreds of grants have been approved to support art activities throughout the region.

Minnesota Artists On-line is an online database of MN artists from all disciplines. It offers to MN based artists a central gathering place on the web, and is an artistic market place and community hub. In addition to providing artists with a Web page containing images and information, mnartists.org provide news and features about the MN arts Scene from a variety of sources. The East Central Arts Council is a designated Regional Arts Center equipped to help an artist or art organization scan images and uploads them onto the site. Please contact us for more information
